An exchange is the substitution of one product for another product, usually of the same type. Exchanges may be motivated by a defect, non-conformity, size or color change, or other reasons. Exchanges must be documented in the DPP to ensure traceability. Verisav manages exchanges by recording information on the exchanged product and the replacement product in the DPP, creating a complete history. Exchanges are a common solution in after-sales service, particularly for products with defects or non-conformities, or when the consumer wants to change size, color or model. Unlike refund, exchange enables the consumer to obtain a new product while maintaining the commercial transaction. Exchanges can be performed under legal guarantee of conformity, commercial warranty, or under a retailer's voluntary exchange policy. The exchange process must comply with the same traceability requirements as other after-sales operations: documentation of exchange reason, identification of exchanged product and replacement product, management of new product warranty, etc. Documentation of exchanges in the DPP is essential for several reasons: it enables tracking of complete product history, effective warranty management (particularly to determine warranty applicable to replacement product), analysis of exchange motives to improve product quality or customer experience, and optimization of inventory management. The DPP can store all exchange-related information: exchange date, exchange reason, exchanged product reference, replacement product reference, warranty applicable to new product, etc. Verisav facilitates exchange management by automating documentation in the DPP, generating necessary documents, and ensuring complete traceability of exchanged products, thus enabling optimized and regulatory-compliant management.
