Replacement is the action of substituting a defective product or component with a new one. It may be a replacement under warranty, an exchange or a repair. Replacement must be documented in the DPP to ensure traceability and warranty management. Verisav manages replacements by recording information on the replaced product and the replacement product in the DPP, creating a complete history. Replacement can concern either a complete product or a specific component. Complete product replacement is generally performed under legal guarantee of conformity or commercial warranty, when repair is not possible or economically viable. Component replacement is a common step in the repair process, enabling restoration of product operation without replacing the whole. Documentation of replacement is essential for several reasons: it enables tracking of complete product history, effective warranty management (particularly to determine if a replaced product benefits from a new warranty), analysis of failure causes to improve design of future products, and optimization of product and spare parts inventory management. The DPP can store all replacement-related information: replacement date, reason for replacement, reference of replaced product or component, reference of replacement product or component, warranty applicable to replacement product, etc. This documentation creates a complete and traceable history that facilitates warranty management, failure analysis, and after-sales service optimization. Verisav automates replacement management by automatically recording all information in the DPP, generating necessary documents (warranty certificates, invoices, etc.), and ensuring complete traceability of replaced products and components.
