VDOS (Verisav Data Object Standard) is the data standard developed by Verisav to manage the DPP (Digital Product Passport) in an automated and regulatory-compliant manner. This standard enables structuring, storing and updating all product life cycle information in a standardized format. VDOS facilitates integration with existing manufacturer systems and ensures compliance with the ESPR regulation. VDOS was designed to meet the specific needs of DPP management in the context of the European ESPR regulation. It builds on existing international standards, particularly GS1, while offering flexibility to adapt to the specific needs of each business sector. The VDOS standard defines data structure, exchange formats, update protocols and validation mechanisms. It ensures interoperability between different systems and enables seamless integration with ERPs, quality management systems and e-commerce platforms. VDOS covers all aspects of a product's life cycle: identification, composition, technical characteristics, warranty information, repair history, environmental data and end-of-life information. It also enables management of relationships between different stakeholders in the value chain: manufacturers, retailers, repairers and consumers. Verisav offers a complete implementation of the VDOS standard, with migration tools, APIs for integration and comprehensive documentation to facilitate adoption by companies.
