The GLN (Global Location Number) is a unique 13-digit identifier standardized by GS1 and used to identify economic operators (manufacturers, distributors, repairers) and facilities (factories, warehouses, points of sale). In the context of the European Digital Product Passport, the GLN is used to identify companies and facilities in the European Union DPP registry. The GLN enables product traceability and facilitates integration with existing management systems. Verisav integrates GLN into the DPP to identify economic operators involved in the product life cycle. The GLN (Global Location Number) is an identification standard developed and maintained by GS1, used to uniquely identify economic operators and facilities in international trade. The GLN is a 13-digit numeric identifier that follows the same structure as GTIN: the first digits identify the national GS1 organization, the following digits identify the economic operator or facility, and the last digit is a check digit. The GLN can be used to identify different types of entities: economic operators (manufacturers, distributors, importers, repairers, etc.), physical facilities (factories, warehouses, distribution centers, points of sale, repair workshops, etc.), and legal entities (companies, subsidiaries, etc.). In the context of the European Digital Product Passport, the GLN plays a crucial role as it is used to identify companies and facilities in the European Union DPP registry. Each economic operator involved in a product's life cycle (manufacturer, distributor, repairer, etc.) must be identified by its GLN in the DPP, thus enabling complete traceability and regulatory compliance. The GLN enables product traceability by enabling knowing exactly where a product was manufactured, stored, distributed, repaired, etc. It also facilitates integration with existing management systems (ERP, WMS, etc.) that already use GLN to identify companies and facilities. Verisav integrates GLN into the DPP to identify all economic operators involved in the product life cycle, thus ensuring complete traceability and compliance with GS1 standards and ESPR regulation.
