A product identifier is a unique code that enables identifying a product model or reference. It may be a SKU, GTIN, EAN or other standardized code. The product identifier is essential for inventory management, traceability and integration with existing systems. Verisav uses product identifiers to associate DPP information with product references, enabling centralized management and facilitated integration. Product identifiers are standardized codes that enable unique identification of a product model or reference. The most common are SKU (Stock Keeping Unit), used internally by companies to manage their inventory, GTIN (Global Trade Item Number), which is a standardized global identifier, and EAN (European Article Number), which is a European variant of GTIN. These identifiers are essential for inventory management, as they enable quick and precise identification of each product reference, tracking stock movements, and managing orders and deliveries. They are also essential for traceability, as they enable associating all product information (characteristics, warranty, history, etc.) with its reference. Finally, they facilitate integration with existing systems (ERP, PIM, e-commerce, etc.), as they constitute a recognized standard used by all value chain stakeholders. The DPP can store multiple product identifiers for the same product (SKU, GTIN, EAN, etc.), thus enabling integration with different systems. Verisav uses these identifiers to associate DPP information with product references in existing systems, enabling centralized management and facilitated integration, and thus ensuring complete traceability and optimized installed base management.
