Commercial warranty is an additional warranty offered by the manufacturer or seller beyond the legal warranty. It may cover specific aspects (parts, labor, duration extension) and have particular conditions. Commercial warranty must be clearly documented and accessible. Verisav manages commercial warranties by recording their conditions, duration and validity in the DPP, enabling consumers to know their rights and businesses to efficiently manage claims. Unlike legal warranty which is a legal obligation, commercial warranty is a voluntary offer from the manufacturer or seller. It may be more advantageous than legal warranty in terms of duration, coverage, or conditions. Commercial warranties can take different forms: manufacturer warranty (offered by the manufacturer), store warranty (offered by the retailer), extended warranty (extension of legal warranty), parts and labor warranty, etc. Each commercial warranty has its own conditions: duration, coverage (parts, labor, or both), exclusions, activation conditions, claim procedures, etc. These conditions must be clearly communicated to the consumer before purchase. Documentation of commercial warranties in the DPP is essential for several reasons: it enables consumers to know precisely their rights and warranty conditions, it facilitates claim management for businesses, it ensures traceability and regulatory compliance, and it enables analysis of warranty costs and effectiveness. The DPP can store all commercial warranty-related information: warranty type, detailed conditions, duration, activation date, expiration date, coverage (parts, labor), exclusions, claims history, etc. Verisav automates commercial warranty management by recording all this information in the DPP upon warranty activation, automatically calculating expiration dates, tracking all claims and interventions, and alerting consumers and businesses when warranty approaches expiration or when a claim is necessary.
