A defect is an imperfection or anomaly that affects a product's characteristics or performance. Defects may be visible (cosmetic) or hidden (functional). They may occur during manufacturing, transport, storage or use. Defects must be documented in the DPP to ensure traceability and quality management. Verisav records all reported defects in the DPP, enabling identification of recurring problems and improvement of product quality. Defects can be classified according to different criteria: their visibility (visible or hidden defects), their impact (minor or major defects), their origin (design, manufacturing, transport, use defects), or their nature (mechanical, electronic, aesthetic defects, etc.). Major defects are those that prevent normal product use or present a safety risk, and are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity. Minor defects are those that do not significantly affect product use but may affect its appearance or value. Precise documentation of defects is essential for several reasons: it enables identification of causes and improvement of production processes, effective management of claims and warranties, compliance with legal obligations, and optimization of future product quality. The DPP can store all defect-related information: defect type, detailed description, location, detection date, impact on use, probable cause, corrective actions taken, etc. This documentation creates a valuable database that enables analysis of trends, identification of recurring problems, and continuous quality improvement. Verisav facilitates defect management by automatically recording all reports in the DPP, enabling statistical analysis of defects by model, production batch, or period, and generating alerts for recurring defects, thus contributing to continuous improvement of product quality.
