No. The Commission plans iron and steel delegated act adoption in Q4 2026 (indicative timeline). Then a transition of at least 18 months applies. No iron/steel placing-on-the-market obligation is yet fixed on the same footing as the battery passport.
What is confirmed — and what is not
Confirmed
- The DPP framework is based on the ESPR (EU Regulation 2024/1781).
- Precise product requirements will be set by a delegated act (or dedicated sectoral legislation).
- After adoption of the ESPR delegated act, operators have a transition period of at least 18 months.
- The only fixed placing-on-the-market obligation published to date: the battery passport (18 February 2027, Regulation 2023/1542).
